World Population Day 2011
Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Chairperson Remedios I. Rikken makes a winning gesture during the Population Day as she urges for the passage of the RH Bill. She called upon the women and the youth to make necessary actions such as leveling up RH discussions on Twitter and Facebook to help expedite the bill’s passage by September 2011.
Staunch RH advocates send a message to President Benigno Aquino III to “count on each other” for the passage of the RH Bill during the 2011 World Population Day on July 11 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. 
UNFPA Representative Ugochi Daniels says engaging one another can provide great opportunities to come up with new ways of solving the challenges posed by a world of 7 billion people. She stressed the need to ensure that everyone gets access to basic necessities and that no one gets neglected. Noel Cabangon and Aia De Leon sing the theme for the Purple Ribbon for RH entitled “Lila.” The song calls upon the women to stand up and reclaim their right to decide for themselves especially when it comes to reproductive health.
