Welcome to the NCRFW website

To keep pace with the information and resource needs of government and civil society, NCRFW is glad to extend its services through this website. The website provides useful information and references on the NCRFW and its programs on gender mainstreaming as well as national and international commitments. Of special interest to users is the info resource corner which provides sex disaggregated data and the latest statistics on women. Government agencies, Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) and other sectors will find our hyperlink with UN and local NGO resources most useful.

Created in 1975, the NCRFW is the first national machinery of women in Asia. Through the years, it had been active in advocating for women’s advancement and gender equality both nationally and globally. From providing assistance to women for livelihood and other basic needs programs in the 1970s, our work now focuses on mainstreaming gender and development concerns in the bureaucracy and partnerships with women NGOs and civil society.

The administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is committed to implement our priority thrusts for (1) Economic Empowerment of Women, (2) Human Rights of Women, and (3) Gender Responsive Governance. We shall continue to strengthen our collaboration and partnership with NGOs, the academe, government agencies and other institutions to help make government truly responsive to women’s issues and concerns.

Should there be any concerns and suggestions that you wish to address me, you can e-mail me personally through chair@ncrfw.gov.ph or write to our webmaster at ird@ncrfw.gov.ph.

Thank you for your support to women’s advancement and gender equality!
