GREAT Women Project Featured in Quezon-wide Agri-Tourism Exposition



The Provincial Government of Quezon is hosting a GREAT Women Project (GWP) Trade Booth and a Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Forum in its Agri-Tourism Exposition 2012 at the Perez Park in Lucena, Quezon. The Agri-Tourism Exposition 2012 is in celebration of Quezon Day, with week-long activities from August 13 until August 19. The Agri-Tourism Exposition, more popularly known as the Niyug-niyogan Festival, specifically showcases activities promoting the Quezon coconut industry and its other agricultural products.

The GREAT Women Project Trade Fair Booth is an exhibit of women microentrepreneur products from Project partner sites and replication municipalities. The GWP Booth also showcases activities conducted by the GWP on agriculture and enterprise development including assistance to Hardin ng Kalikasan and Bio-Intensive Gardening Project. Brochures on livelihood start-up and promo collaterals are also available in the booth for dissemination.

On August 16 at 1:00pm, the Province Gender and Development Office will conduct a half-day Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Forum within Provincial Capitol grounds. The WEE Forum will feature presentations from national government agencies and local service providers to discuss their programs and services that support women microentrepreneurs (WMEs). The WEE Forum will be attended by WMEs from pilot partner LGUs of Real, Infanta and General Nakar (ReINa municipalities), new partner sites consisting of Calauag, Mauban, Lucena and Lucban (CMALL municipalities) and from other parts of the Province.
