CIDA officials visit NCRFW

Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) officials led by Country Program Director Adele Shaughnessy, Development Officer Jon Silva, and Senior Programme Officer Myrna Jarillas visited the National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women (NCRFW) last 21 November 2008. NCRFW, with its partner consultants and representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), shared their views about the changes and challenges brought about by the interventions of the Gender-Responsive Economic Actions for the Transformation of Women (GREAT Women) Project.

Chairperson Yao expressed her deepest appreciation to CIDA for it continuing support and partnership with the NCRFW in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in the Philippines. She likewise underscored that the partnership of CIDA and the NCRFW through the GREAT Women Project is setting a good practice of development aid which can be emulated by neighboring nations in the ASEAN and APEC regions, and by other developing countries.
