The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) strongly condemns the abduction of more than 200 girls last April 14, 2014 from their school in Chibok, Borno, Nigeria. Said abduction is a clear human right’s violation and a form of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
The Commission echoes the act as very revolting and is rallying everyone to express support to the Nigerian girls by making their efforts known through social media using the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls.
PCW Executive Director Emmeline Verzosa expresses her fears and sadness for the plight of the girls.
There is no greater gift for Filipino mothers than the immediate and effective implementation of the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health (RPRH) Law following the declaration of its constitutionality in April.
As we celebrate this year's Mother's Day, Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Chairperson Remedios Rikken emphasized that "every mother deserves quality and comprehensive healthcare, thus making the RH Law a victory of Filipino women."
