PCW holds GAD Budget Fora in Siquijor and Negros

The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) gathered 80 local government unit (LGU) officers from the Provinces of Siquijor and Negros Oriental in the first Provincial Gender and Development (GAD) Budget Fora LGUs on June 19 and 20, 2019 at Salagdoong Beach Resort, Maria, Siquijor.

Conducted in partnership with the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) VI, the fora served as a venue to orient the budget and planning officers as well as the GAD Focal Point system members frin tge 20 LGUs on the preparation of the Annual Gender and Development Plan Budget (GPB) and Accomplishment Report (GAD AR).

The participants were also trained on the use of gender analysis (GA) tools such as the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) and Gender-Responsive LGU (GeRL) Assessment Tool, and orientation on the revised guidelines in the Audit of GAD funds of government agencies.

This activity is one of the strategies of the PCW to localize the Magna Carta of Women (MCW) down to the barangay level, and realize the twin goals of Gender Equality and Empowerment of all women and girls. 

Similar Regional GAD Budget Fora shall be conducted by the PCW and the RGADCs in the coming months. Schedules and other relevant details of the fora will be shared in the PCW’s website and social media accounts.
