PCW certifies new batch of GAD Resource Pool


Twenty-six individuals from national government agencies (NGAs), local government units (LGUs), civil society organizations (CSOs), academe and civil society organizations were certified as Gender and Development (GAD) Resource (GR) Pool members by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) on September 9, 2014 at the Sunrise Holiday Mansion, Tagaytay City.

The GR Pool was created to respond to the increasing demand of technical assistance (TA) on gender mainstreaming and GAD Planning and budgeting for NGAs and LGUs nationwide.

Out of the 54 applicants, the following were formally certified as part of the GR Pool: Mr. Nulfarid S. Ampatuan, Ms. Lorelie S. Astrera, Dr. Mary Barby B. Jover, Ms. Jocelyn B. Balanag, Ms. Lydia M. Baltazar, Dr. Gwendolyn C. Bambalan, Dr. Rhodora M. Bucoy, Atty. Romeo T. Cabarde, Jr., Dr. Cherrie Melanie A. Diego, Ms. Rose Mimi T. Co, Dr. Florida P. Faculo, Ms. Gemma F. Ifurung, Ms. Nathalie T. Igot, Ms. Maria Clara B. Ignacio, Ms. Carolina A. Lanceta, Ms. Lolita C. Layser, Ms. Lorna B. Mandin, Ms. Jemelle Z. Milanes, Mr. Nicolas C. Motos, Jr., Ms. Pauline L. Nayra, Ms. Reina P. Olivar, Ms. Mary Ruth V. Parro, Ms. Wilma S. Rojas, Ms. Mary Alice G. Rosero and Ms. Lourdes C. Turiano and Ms. Katherine C. Viñegas.

Last March 26, 2014, the first thirty-seven GAD Resource Pool members were certified at Hotel Kimberly, Taft Ave., Manila.

The certified GR Pool members will be tapped by PCW in providing GAD technical assistance and will serve as sectoral experts in the crafting and updating of tools and customized training packages for different clients.
