Legislative Agenda for the 16th Congress

The Philippine Commission on Women as the primary policy-making and coordinating body on women and gender equality concerns is committed to support and advocate for the enactment of laws that will further recognize, protect, fulfill and promote the rights of Filipino women.

Consistent with this and its commitments to the Magna Carta of Women, the Philippine Plan for Gender-Responsive Development as well as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the PCW pushes for the Women’s Priority Legislative Agenda (WPLA) for the 16th Congress.

The Women’s Priority Legislative Agenda (WPLA) seeks to amend or repeal discriminatory provisions of existing laws and moves for the formulation and adoption of new legislations that promote women’s empowerment and gender equality.

For the 16th Congress, the PCW seeks to push its advocacy efforts through its eleven proposed legislative agenda.
