How to be A Gender Legislator Handbook



The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the House of Representatives (HoR) will launch the How to Be A Gender-Responsive Legislator (HGRL) Handbook on May 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM. The event is led by the Committee on Women and Gender Equality and the GAD Focal Point System of the House of Representatives. It is participated by legislators and staff from the HoR.

The HGRL Handbook was developed by PCW, in partnership with HoR, in consultation with the Senate and other stakeholders. The HoR printed hardcopies of this handbook which aims to serve as a handy reference for legislators and staff, bill drafters, technical staff of legislative bodies, and GAD advocates, in promoting women’s rights in developing gender-responsive legislative measures. It is also serves as a reference on basic GAD concepts, GAD mainstreaming process, interventions and guide questions for gender-responsive legislations.
