Call for Nominations for the Sectoral Representatives to the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking


The Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) is the body mandated by law to coordinate and monitor the implementation of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, with the Department of Justice as the lead agency.

The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) as a member of the IACAT, is pleased to inform the concerned sector and the public in general, that the nomination process for the selection of the following sectoral representatives to the Council is still open:

a.    One (1) representative from an NGO representing the women sector;
b.    One (1) representative from an NGO representing the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) sector;
c.    One (1) representative from an NGO representing the children sector.

The NGO and its representative shall be nominated by the member agencies of the Council and shall be selected by majority vote thereof for endorsement to the President. They shall be appointed by the President for a term of three (3) years, and may be re-appointed for another three-year term.

Interested NGOs shall submit the official Nomination Form which will be used by the IACAT Secretariat in screening the prospective NGOs who will qualify for nomination by the Council Members. A Special Council Meeting will be called for the purpose of selecting the NGO representatives, pursuant to the approved “Guidelines on the Nomination and Selection of Sectoral Representatives to the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking.”

The IACAT Secretariat shall be accepting submissions of duly accomplished Nomination Forms until January 31, 2018.
