Abra LGUs participate in Gender Budget Forum

Over a hunded participants coming from the 27 municipalities and the Provincial Government of Abra participated in the two-day Gender and Development (GAD) Budget Forum held at the Provincial Capitol on October 2-3, 2019.

Conducted by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the Regional GAD Committee of the Cordillera Administrative Region, the activity capacitated the local government units in advancing gender mainstreaming in their work. 

The local government units were represented by members of the LGUs GAD Focal Point System, Planning Officers, and Budget Officers. The discussions include the preparation of GAD Plan and Budget (GPB) and GAD Accomplishment Report (AR), use of gender analysis (GA)  and GA tools such as the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines and the Gender-Responsive LGU (GeRL) assessment tool, and the revised guidelines on the audit of GAD funds.

Present in the activity to serve as resource persos were Director Nancy A. Bantog of the Department of Science and Technology-CAR, Director Milagros A. Rimando of the National Economic and Development Authority-CAR, Director Leni Abellera of the Commission on Population-CAR, Assistant Regional Director Mary Bacwaden of the Commission on Audit-CAR, and PCW Chief GAD Specialist Ms. Nharleen Santos-Millar.
