GADtimpala 2013: “Search for the Most Outstanding Gender-Responsive Government Agency”
OBJECTIVE
To recognize the outstanding achievement and/or performance of government agencies in upholding the rights of women and for effective implementation of gender-responsive programs.
SCOPE
The award is open but limited to all government departments including attached agencies, regional offices, bureaus, SUCs, and GOCCs. Nominations for attached agencies, bureaus or regional offices shall be treated separately from their central offices.
AWARDS & AWARDEES
The Most Outstanding Gender-Responsive Government Agency Award is conferred to three (3) agencies that have proven record and achievements of championing GAD. They will be ranked 1st (Gold Award), 2nd (Silver Award) and 3rd (Bronze Award) subject to their final score in the selection process.
The awardees shall receive a plaque plus reward either in cash or in kind. Special citations may also be given.
NOMINATION PROCESS
Any individual, organization or agency with extensive or first-hand knowledge of the outstanding performance of the agency can nominate.
Self-nomination is accepted.
Nominating parties must submit to PCW an accomplished official nomination form along with necessary supporting documents in original or certified true copy (submitted documents will be used for the initial screening, validation and selection of awardees).
The nominated agency shall have full knowledge of the nomination and the head of the agency shall concur and attest to the accuracy of the entries in the nomination forms.
BASIC ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Has developed and implemented gender-responsive programs to address CEDAW, MDGs and BPfA; and national laws on women such as MCW.
Has submitted GAD Plan and Budget (GPB) and Accomplishment Report (AR) to PCW for the last 3 consecutive years (2011, 2012 & 2013).
Has functional GFPS.
Has utilized gender analysis tools e.g. GMEF and HGDG in the assessment of the progress of its gender mainstreaming and the gender-responsiveness of the agency.
Has conducted basic GAD competency training for agency officials and staff.

| Feb. 16 – 28, 2014 | Selection Period – Presentation of finalists to the Selection Board (PCW Board) for deliberation and selection of awardees |
